What are the best local options for Vegan food?
Can we walk the Sanctuary grounds on our own?
The Sanctuary gate is open 9 am - 4:30 pm daily. You are welcome to walk the grounds on your own during these times, but for everyone’s safety, please do not enter any pastures or barns, feed the animals, or approach the bird areas. Make sure to wear your red lanyards so the Farm staff knows you are a B&B guest.
How can I view available dates to make a reservation?
For the most accurate calendar view, we have found it helpful to choose the unit you'd like to stay in and then scroll to the bottom of that page to see the available dates.

What shoes are best for Sanctuary tours?
Closed-toe shoes are required on all tours, and waterproof footwear is strongly recommended. We suggest rain boots or hiking boots, but an old pair of sneakers will do just fine if you don't mind walking through possibly wet or muddy pastures with them.
Can I bring my pet with us during our overnight stay?
Up to two well-behaved dogs are welcome in Cabin 2 and Tiny House 6 only, for an additional charge of $35 per dog per night. This fee must be paid at the time of booking. Dogs must be on a leash at all times, current on all required vaccinations, and not permitted near animal housing barns and pastures at any time. We cannot accommodate any other type of pet at this time.
What time is the Sanctuary Shop open?
Our Sanctuary shop will be open daily from 10:30am to 4:30pm May-October.
Is there public transport or Uber to the Sanctuary?
The sanctuary is located in a rural area near Sugar Hill State Forest and does not have public transportation or Uber pickups nearby. The closest airports are in Elmira, Ithaca, and Rochester, New York. We recommend renting a car to get from the airport to the sanctuary.
