Guests 18 years or older are welcome to volunteer with our Environment Team, cleaning barns and completing farm chores.

Check-in with staff at the Visitor Barn gift shop at the start of the shift for waivers, T-shirts, and gloves, and to arrange your pick up.

Here's a list of common tasks so you know what to expect:

  • Lifting heavy piles of manure into tall spreaders or dump carts

  • Lifting heavy buckets of soiled bedding into spreaders or dump carts

  • Using a variety of cleaning tools such as pitchforks, rakes, shovels, scrapers, brooms, etc

  • Performing a lot of walking, bending and lifting

  • Working in dusty conditions

  • Working in all weather conditions

  • Using push mowers, weed eaters, hedge trimmers, smaller gardening hand held tools

  • Working on muddy, slippery, or uneven ground conditions

  • Working in Isolation areas wearing ISO gear (pants, shirt, booties, and gloves)

  • Working on smaller maintenance projects (painting barns, fence repairs, trail clean-ups)

Please note the Sanctuary Tour for Tiny House and Cabin guests is at 9 am each morning of your stay, so don’t miss it!
